VW to Sell 800,000 Vehicles in China

Submitted by Bill Belew on Sunday, 23 September 2007No Comment

Volkswagen Group vehicle sales soared by 28.8% to 600,000 in the first eight months of this year….and the group is hoping to reach 800,000 by the end of the year.

Audi car sales also rose by 27% to 65,000 units in the first eight months.

Since 2002, sales of imported Volkswagen vehicles in China have seen an annual growth rate of 220% and may reach 8,000 units this year.

The most promising business in China in the auto industry, however, is the used car business, certified pre-owned, er, whatever it is called these days.

What that means is that soon there will be a new word needing translation into Chinese – Lemon.

VW will sell used cars, too.

Have you ever bought a lemon?
