UAW Strike Against Chrysler – Chinese Carmakers Close Gap in Production
The United Auto Workers (UAW) will strike against Chrysler if some sort of deal isn't struck…and right soon.
Chrysler is already doing its darndest to get back in the black by 2008.
But…sales are down 3% over last year.
Earlier this year Chrysler started:
1. cutting 11,000 production jobs
2. slashing 2,000 white-collar positions …and perhaps 1,500
more.
3. idling more than 5 U.S. plants for 1-2 weeks because of low demand
Workers at factories and union halls are filling out paperwork for strike pay and have signed up for picket duty. Go boys and girls!
