Starbucks China Pledges to Cut Trans fats

Posted by Bill Belew on January 5th, 2007 in Doing Business in China | No Comments

Starbucks China wants to do its part to keep Chinese from becoming too western…while giving patrons more caffeine to keep them buzzing, the company will cut trans fats from its doughnuts, muffins and other treats.

Starbucks is not worried about losing taste, their snacks are dry and tasteless anyway.

Starbucks China does not expect the goodies to cost more nor did the company give a timeline for when the change would be complete.

Starbucks has 12,000 outlets globally…the first outlet in China was set up in Beijing in 1999. Seven years later, there are now 200 stores in 20 mainland cities.

I have never been a Starbucks fan…comes from not liking coffee, mocha or anything bitter…and the snacks are expensive and taste bad to me, too.

What about you? Starbucks fan?
