Panda Poop Used to Make Souveniers

This might be one of the stupidest things I have ever heard on many levels.

Soon, tourists will be able to buy souveniers made from Panda Crap/Poop/Excretion in Chengdu.

Under pretenses of reducing pollution and saving resources, the Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Center has a project to make key chains, whistles and magnets from the 200 tons of discharges from its charges.

Actually, paper making is first on the agenda. Imagine getting a letter on Panda Poop Paper. Oh, boy!panda%20paper.jpg

The idea is not original to China. The Chiang Mai Zoo in Thailand made almost $8,000 by selling paper products made from its two pandas.

"Pandas' excretion is a perfect raw material to make paper due to pandas' high fibre diet," said one official.

And because of the presence of bamboo scraps, lucky tourists can have a scent of bamboo in their souveniers as well.

And, people really buy this stuff, too!

How about you? Would you like to have a notebook, fan and post cards made from Panda baubles?
