Nike Wins Counterfeiting Lawsuit

While Nike, Inc. is getting $100 million in a gift on one side of the ocean, the company is winning lawsuits on the other side.

Nike won two lawsuits against Chinese shoemakers and the local operation of a French supermarket.

The two illegally copied the Air Jordan logo.

A Shanghai court awarded Nike 350,000 yuan

($46,100)air.jordan.logo.jpg – pocket change for the world's largest sports apparel company but a victory nonetheless for Nike and IPR protection.

Employees of Nike happened to find shoes made by the companies selling the fakes for 100 yuan ($13) at a pair of outlets in Shanghai and Ningbo.

Authentic Air Jordans sell for much more.

Who would have thought that they would have been caught….until, a Nike employee just happened to be running by.

But, then that's what Nike shoe wearers do, isn't it? Run.
