LCD TV Production Up 77% in First 8 Months
Last year this time, one in 10 TVs made in China were LCD sets.
This year, it's one in five with total production up 775.
Price cuts are the reason.
In the domestic market…50% of new TVs are LCD sets with a plasma screen.
In the city, 90% of new tubes are not tubes…but flat screens.
Rear projection TVs are on the way out, and plasma screens, despite the higher price tag are increasing in sales.
China is the world's number one color TV producer, accounting for about 50% of the world's total output.![]()
Sales and exports are both maintaining double digit growth.
Gosh…and I still have a huge Sony TV.
What kind of TV do you have?
