The Wall Street Journal is saying that Intel Corp will announce as early as next Monday that the company will place a chip manufacturng plant in China.

The northern port city of Dalian will be the location of the $2.5 billion plant.

The presence of Intel in China will be major step forward in China's chip-manufacturing capability.

The plant will be the fourth country for Intel – United States, Ireland, Israel and the Middle Kingdom.

And I almost moved to Dalian about 7 years ago. To be sure… I am eating my heart out now.
