CPI Hits New High

Submitted by Bill Belew on Sunday, 16 March 2008No Comment

Just when you thought prices couldn't go up any more – our local cheap gas station is now selling the cheap stuff for $3.49/gallon, it was $2.99 not long ago.

China had seen the highest rise in CPI (inflation) in more than a decade.

There will be another record coming out for February.

The consumer price index is expected to be 8.3% year-on-year last month.

Food prices are up 6-7% for the month and 22-23% over last year.

Whoa! A bag of Peanut M&Ms going for a $1 now cost $1.24.

Problem – prices are going up, what do you do?

Buy now before they go higher, right?

Wrong.

Buying everything up will drive the prices up even more.

The worst storm in 50 years in China is blowing twister winds on the economy.

January prices were up 7.1%. March will be up ???
