Coca-Cola Pours $80 million into Researching China

Submitted by Bill Belew on Tuesday, 17 July 2007No Comment

China is Coca-Cola's fourth largest market in terms of revenue.

Brazil is number three and Mexico is number two.

In order to determine, among other things, the best place to add on to the 29 bottling facilities Coke has in China, the world's largest beverage maker will pour $80 million into setting up a new research center  -  The Global Innovation and Technology Center – the sixth such center for Coca-Cola.

The center will be located in a suburb of Shanghai, be completed late next year and have about 200 staff members.coca.cola.china.jpg

Asia is the focus of the center…and China is the focus of Asia.

The president of Coca-Cola China says the soda

pop maker will head for 'areas that are not well represented.'

That means, to places that don't know Coca-Cola will give them rot gut, destroy their teeth, add to their waist lines and spoil other wise reasonably good diets.

No one needs to learn to like soda…starting with Coca-Cola.
