China’s Founder Technology Group signs a Microsoft Deal

China’s Founder Technology Group has signed a licensing deal with Microsoft.

This is part of China’s overall effort to crackdown on piracy in China.  Looks like somebody is getting serious, eh?

Founder Technology prez, Qi Dongfeng, said the company would pay $250 million worth of licenses for a Chinese version of Windows over the next three years.

The two companies also pledgedto promote real versions of Windows.

Kudos to both of them for doing something, rather than talking about it.

This is timed to precede President Hu’s visit…late next week.

Every little bit helps and this, IMHO, is a step in the right direction for doing good business in China.

What do you think?
