China’s Auto Sales Take Aim at Toyota, General Motors
If China were one big car company, it might have a chance to beat Toyota and General Motors in annual car sales.
Toyota and General Motors will both sell 9 million plus cars this year.
The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers says that the country will have an auto output of about 8.5 million cars this year.
In the first four months, China's auto output grew by 21.4% to 3.01 million units…and sales hit 2.93 million, up 21.5%.
If they did that every quarter…then the country is looking at nearly 12 million units in sales.
Jilin-based First Automobile Works, FAW, Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp. and Hubei-based Dongfeng Motors were the big sellers.
Anhui-based Chery Automobile and Zhejiang-based Geely Group, two brands indigenous to China ranked seventh and tenth.
China's top ten automakers accounted for 83% of the total output. Translation – there still is no big three or four in China…yet.
Which car makers in China do you think will rise to the top?

If China has the ability to beat Toyota and GM, american automaker of quality vehicles and parts like GM Cargo LIners, then extra effort must be done to make it happen. It’s not impossible for them to do so being one of the biggest and most developed country in the world.
