China Raises the Bar on Capital Raising

China ventured into new territory, set a record, raised the bar…received more capital through initial and secondary public offerings in the first nine months of this year than ever before – $56.7 billion.

The figure surpassed teh combined funds raised on the markets from 2002-2006!

In September, 15 IPOs raised more than $22 billion…about half of the total for the year.

The two biggest IPOs:

1. China Construction Bank (CCB), one of China's top four commercial banks – raised more than $8 billion.chinapetro.ipo.jpg

2. China Shenhua, the nation's biggest coal producer – raised more than $9.5 billion.

CCB's IPO was the biggest ever of the four banks.

The coal giant's IPO was simply the biggest ever.

Think there is no where to invest in China anymore?

Think again…more big IPOs are on their way – PetroChina for one.
