China Forecasts 500 Million Mobile Phones for 2007
China expects to produce 40% of the world's mobile phones this year – 500 million handsets.
Of those 500 million, 80% were made for overseas.
Market share in China fell two percentage points for the first three quarters of this year.
Finland-based Nokia has the largest market share on the Chinese mainland.
Chinese mobile phone makers still do not have command of core technology,
making it difficult for them to reduce production costs.
But, when they do, China will be the winner of mobile phone price wars.
What kind of mobile phone do you have?
