Burberry, Dior, Armani, fail Shanghai Quality Inspection
Top brands from around the world, Burberry, MaxMara, Dior, Armani, Zara and Ermengildo Zegna, failed quality inspection exams according to the Shanghai Industrial and Commercial Administrative Bureau.
Twenty-five of 59 samples from 40 fashion brands did not meet standards. Seventeen of the brands were imported.
Spanish ZARA had twice the level of formaldehyde, which has been linked to cancer.
MaxMara women coats and Burberry trousers tended to fade easily.![]()
Spanish-brand Mango boasted 20% cashmere but in fact had only 1.7%.
One department store official said the items tested were display items, hinting, they were not the real thing.
Another official blamed it on a lack of quality control from outsourcing.
Doesn't matter…the stores were ordered to remove the items.
Are you sure your brand item's quality is worth what you paid for it?
