Brazil – China’s Biggest Trading Partner in Latin America

Posted by Bill Belew on September 11th, 2007 in Doing Business in China | No Comments

China and Brazil traded $12 billion worth of goods in the first half of this year…up 30% over last year.

$4.54 billion was in exports and $7.46 billion in imports – up 38.5% and 25.5% respectively.

Last year Sino-Brazilian trade was $20.3 billion.

As of June this year, China had invested nearly $100 million in Brazil:

1. mining

2. telecommunications

3. trade

4. services

5. lumber processing

6. assembly lines for household appliances

Brazil, on the other hand, invested $210 million in China for:

1. manufacturing

2. real estate

3. hydropower industries.

Yeah…America is NOT the center of the financial universe anymore….just a little right to center.
