5 US Airlines Win New Flight Routes to China
Everyone wants to go to China.
Five U.S. airlines will soon have five new ways to get passengers there.
1. Continental Airlines will fly between Newark, New Jersey, and Shanghai starting in March 2009.
2. American Airlines will fly between Chicago and Beijing,
3. Northwest will begin a service between Detroit and Shanghai
4. Delta plans a daily flight starting March 30, 2009 between Atlanta and Shanghai.
5. US Airways' daily service will begin March 25, 2009, between Philadelphia and Beijing.
An aviation pact was signed between the two countries will double the round-trip flights to 23 by 2012.![]()
Meanwhile –
Earlier this year, Singapore Airlines has agreed to pay $918 million for a 24% stake in China Eastern Airlines.
Last year, Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd, paid $524 million for a larger stake in Air China.
Getting to China, accessing the Chinese market is the trend….and is likely to be so for quite some time.
