The 1st One day International between Australia and South Africa (Day /Night) will start from 16th Friday , in Melbourne ,Start time 2.15pm (03.15 GMT)

Australia has never won against South Africa in an ODI at the Melbourne cricket ground. Both teams have played at this venue five times , believe it or not, South Africa have all the 5 times ! After 2 years the two teams are playing an ODI against each other.

Australia have won their last 5 odi’s on the trot, where as South Africa have won 4 out of 5,

Pitch News : The Melbourne cricket Ground has favoured the fast bowlers  and the trend is expected to continue in this match also, so we can expect some real pace from Shaun Tait and Steyn.

South Africa v Australia, 1st Test, Johannesburg, 1st day
Lunch Australia 78 for 3 (Ponting 49*, Clarke 17*, Steyn 2-21) against South Africa
Australia have dominated this rivalry in recent times, but the winds of change that blew across Perth and Melbourne late last year were in evidence again at the Wanderers. South Africa’s bowling attack scythed through the top order in swing-friendly conditions after the visitors had gambled on batting first. Ricky Ponting was defiant and played some lovely strokes but had Graeme Smith not put down a simple catch off Dale Steyn on the stroke of lunch – Ponting was on 40 at the time – the fate of the match could already have been decided in its opening session.
