China Is Making Concessions on US Trade Concerns
China is beginning to make concessions, at least they say they will, on US trade concerns. Whether they follow through or not remains to be seen.
Besides spending more than $16 billion this week and next, conveniently timed with President Hu’s upcoming visit, China has announced they will lift a ban on importing beef from the US. When that will happen…nobody knows. China stopped importing beef in 12/2003 when somebody went mad…wait, that was a cow that went mad.
China also announced that they will crack down on copyright piracy and open up its government bidding process to US businesses.
It is estimated that more than 90% of software used in computers is pirated, copied…that is stolen.
Still…all we have is pledges and promises of future timetables.
It takes time for these things to happen. I know that. We all know that.
But sooner or later, they DO have to happen.
When is sooner?
What do you think?
