Mahindra launches upgraded Xylo in India
The much awaited SUV from Mahindra and Mahindra has been launched on February 8, 2012 its new version of the successful Xylo model for the Indian market. The new Xylo has received its first make over in three years since its launch and is power packed with features.
M& M expects the new SUV to be launched in the international markets also. Five variants of the new Xylo have been launched and is priced between Rs 7.37 lakhs for the basic model and Rs 10.25 lakhs for the top end E9 model.
Pravin Shah, chief executive of automotive division said at the launch function that new Xylo marks the sixth new launch from the Mahindra stable this fiscal. Shah at the launch was also questioned if the new model will affect the sales of the recently launched XUV500, which has already sold 34,000 units since its launch, to which he said that he wasn’t worried about the cannibalisation.
Shah added that if at all some sort of cannibalisation happens then they are not worried as long as their products are sold in the market. In terms of competition the new Xylo is expected to lock horns with Toyota Innova, which is costlier by nearly 3 lakhs and offers lower mileage.
