Modern Meets Traditional at Chinese Group Wedding

The Chinese are becoming, are already, a modern lot. There is nothing that goes on elsewhere that you can’t find happening in China. Including group weddings.

The Chinese are a traditional lot, quite hesitant to let go of their heritage, their history…including when they do the group wedding thing.

Eleven couples tied the knot, in pairs we assume, at a group wedding in the Shajiabang Scenic Spot in Changshu, east China’s Jiangsu Province.

Modern meets traditional, eh?

those ‘traditional’ costumes are actually Manchurian in origin. the truly traditional Han costumes worn for thousands of years until the Manchu conquest are much more elegant and beautiful.
