Union Members Weigh in on Low-Cost Chinese Products

Posted by Bill Belew on May 23rd, 2006 in Business in China, China | No Comments

Union members and members of their households were asked what they thought about low-cost Chinese goods.

The general public (63%) think that low-cost goods benefit Americans.

It stands to reason that union households might have a different perspective on this issue.

Nope – the same. The same percentage (63%) of union households either somewhat agreed or strongly agreed that low-cost Chinese products benefited Americans.

What that means to me is that unions want to paid out the wazoo but still want to buy things from overseas very cheaply.

You can’t have it both ways.

I hate unions.

What do you think?

Chinese’s goods maybe cheap, but how about the quality? It is cheap because poor people sweat to make them for us, so richer become richer. I bought an item that was made in China, I thought it was a good deal, but it did not last long! But the workmanship was good.
