Terry Semel, CEO of Yahoo, Shares an Anecdote (part 3)

Submitted by Bill Belew on Tuesday, 2 May 2006No Comment

I read recently that China was going after Technorati and other blog search engines so that, they (the blogs), too could be sensored.

The reason is simple according to Terry Semel of Yahoo.

The government of China looks at blogs the same way they do the news.

It becomes important for bloggers to follow the rules of the host country in the same way that the search engines have complied.

Hmm…now China is getting personal.

China might choose which of my blogs they will allow their residents to read and which they will not, but they will NOT tell me what and how to write. That is my first reaction.

I wonder, has anyone had their blog censored and knows about it. Would you mind sharing?

Maybe I should ask, can you share?

Please email me privately if you must. I will surely respect your privacy.
