Company Plans To Name Sanitary Napkins after Yao Ming

Submitted by Bill Belew on Friday, 10 November 2006No Comment

Chinese like to use famous people and places to name their products.

The Great Wall Vases, or Forbidden City Eye glasses. Some companies went even as far as to name themselves after particulary strong typhoons.

But this guy in southern China wants to name sanitary napkins after Yao Ming.

And, since he is hoping that will fly, he has a whole line of products – diapers, sportswear (makes sense), beer and metal ware.sanitary napkin.jpg

Yao’s business and consultancy group responded with "What the Ming!?"yao ming.jpg

The registration has already WON preliminary approval from the trademark bureau of the State Administration.

What are these guys thinking?

Nearly three-fourths of Net savvy dudes (mostly men) are opposed to the idea.

The women…well, perhaps they are excited to have a 7′5" giant applied to their private parts at critical monthly intervals.

Would you buy a sanitary napkin with Yao’s face and name on it?
