China’s Shanghai Mobster Does Big Business….No More

Shanghai’s self proclaimed "top gangster" is cooked.
15 years in prison didn’t rehabilitate him. After being released in 2001 the mobster took over an entertainment district in Shanghai’s Baoshan.
There he operated a gambling and ‘drug taking’ den.
His online gambling profits approached 3 million yuan ($380k).
But…good wins out in the end.
Li Bin, 40, was sentenced with his wife and 18 members of his gang. The wife and the gang members got sentences ranging in 15 months to life.
Li Bin will be put to death.
China doesn’t have much of an appeals process. Chances are we will hear about his execution in the next few days.
The good guys win one.
