1,500 Exhibitors Ready for Beijing Auto Show
General Motors Corp., Toyota Motor Corp., DaimlerChrysler AG, Volkswagen AG…all of the foreign car makers and related auto services have set up 1,500 exhibits in Beijing for the biennial Beijing Automotive Exhibition 2006.
China has the world’s second largest auto market with 7 million car sales this year.
GM plans to spend $3 billion from 2004-2007.
DaimlerChrysler opened its first Mecedes-Benz factory ($1.9 billion) two
months ago.
The CEO of DaimlerChrysler has acknowledged that his company is in talks with Chery of China over a possible joint venture.
Rolls-Royce says China is its number 3 market behind the U.S. and Britain.
The show exhibits will be seen by some 500,000 visitors over the next two weeks, beginning on Sunday.
And then, there will be some umpteen thousand orders for new cars to follow.
Automobile business is good in China.
