Question: What motivates a blogger to blog? A writer to write? A singer to sing?

If it’s not passion then what? Or what else?

I gave a workshop the other day. See - Report: Blog workshop held on how to get more traffic and what you can do with it.

During that workshop I gave a list of the 20 characteristics of a successful blogger, including, of course, passion, somewhere near the top of the list.

I got all excited, jumped up and down, waved my arms about and told the story of Jeremiah the prophet and how Jeremiah determined he could not not preach because whenever he decided he wouldn’t, the message of God burned like fire in his bones.  See Jeremiah 20:9.

I felt pretty good about myself and that particular point about getting everyone excited until I read one of the comments in the feedback forms after the presentation.
