Transparency International has ranked 163 by an international graft index.

Transparency International is an international graft watchdog operating out of Berlin.

In the Asia-Pacific Region the top Six countries are:
10.  Thailand  – #63 overall

9.   Malaysia  – #44 overall

8.  South Korea – #42 overall

7.  Taiwan – # 34 overall

6.  Macao – #26 overallcasino.jpg

5.  Japan – #17 overall

4.  Hong Kong – #15 overall

3.  Australia – # 9 overall

2.  Singapore – #5 overall

1.  New Zealand – Tied with Finland and Iceland for # 1 overall

New Zealand’s rank above Singapore surprises me, but only because I am pretty stupid about New Zealand.

However, Singapore’s reputation as a ‘fine’ city is well-known.

It is also surprising that Macao, the new gambling center of Asia could be ranked so high. Macao is 26th overall.

Haiti is considered the worse.

China and India are tied at #70 overall.

I never knew there was such an organization. Did you?
