Tiger Woods Not For Sale in Race to Dubai
Even though Tiger Woods is getting his own golf course in Dubai, he is not interested in playing in the Race to Dubai that will offer up the biggest purse ever for a golf tournament – $10 million.
$2 million goes to the winner…pocket change for the Tiger.
If Tiger were to add a couple tourneys and pay a membership fee to join the European Tour, he could have already won the Order of Merit seven times.
The Order of Merit will be changed to the Race to Dubai.
If a player were to play four times, he could be a member of the European Tour,
thus eligible for the tourney in Dubai.
When asked if a $3.66 million payoff in Dubai would entice Tiger to play in Dubai and join the European Tour…Tiger's agent said flatly, "No."
"He'll always play where he wants to play, and he's building a schedule around what's most important to him. And that's the majors."
