Temperature in Delhi reaches coldest for season
The capital of India, Delhi today on December 13, 2011 experienced the lowest temperature of the winter season with the mercury falling seven degrees below the normal level. The minimum temperature recorded was 6.9 degrees.
The MET department says that on December 12, 2011 the minimum temperature was recorded 7.1 degrees. The maximum temperature recorded was 24.6 degrees which was one degree above the normal level.
In the month of December last year the minimum temperature went down to 5.2 degrees on the 22nd of the month of December. However, in the past the minimum temperature was recorded in December 12 2005 with 3.3 degree Celsius and the maximum temperature was recorded 28.4 degrees on December 15, 2003.
But the record for the lowest minimum temperature in December was 1.1 degrees Celsius on December 26 in the year 1945. While the maximum temperature recorded was 29.3 degrees on December 3, 1987. The MET department also said that the maximum temperature was recorded at 23.2 degrees on December 11, 2011.
