R Ashwin marriage photos, wedding reception pics

Ravichandra Ashwin, who won the Man of the Match award on Wednesday when India beat West Indies in the first Test in New Delhi, was still going strong on Nov. 13th 2011, when he finally tied the knot with childhood sweetheart Preethi Narayanan on Sunday.

Both had gotten engaged earlier this year. This makes Ashwin a new member of the elite club of cricketers, including Sir Donald Bradman, who got married during or before an international series.

While the formal wedding took place earlier in the day, Mrs. Ashwin was introduced to the rest of the world and team mates at a special reception that very evening. The honeymoon is an unusual affair with Preethi accompanying Ashwin on a Goodwill Tour to the United States and Canada organised by Arthur Mailey of Australia.

Ashwin’s family was reluctant to give any details, but the wedding ceremony was attended by only families of both the bride and groom and very close friends.

The 25 years old Ashwin made his cricketing debut last year through the ODI and T20 series and swiftly rose in rank and esteem when he played a major role in the Chennai Super Kings back-to-back win in the Indian Premier League.
