Nokia’s Symbian Belle handsets to arrive in India by end of 2011
The Indian market will soon have the Nokia Symbian Belle handsets, which is the update of the Nokia Symbian Anna. D Shivakumar, the vice president and the managing director of the company had said that the handsets with the Near Field Communication Technology will be arriving in India by the end of the year.
The company recently announced three handsets that are based on the new Symbian Belle update. Nokia introduced the Nokia 700, Nokia 701 and Nokia 600 along with Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan.
The new update by Nokia was announced by the company a month ago and features resize-able widgets, improved lock screen and the most important the Near Field Communication technology. All the three handsets will be pre-loaded with the Symbian Belle.
Shivakumar added that more than 50 developers were involved in the rolling out of the NFC based applications. This is the first time the Finnish company has developed the NFC enabled smartphones.
The company now plans to aim in partnering and to help in developing the ecosystem to aware the masses about the numerous uses and advantages of the NFC technology. The Symbian Belle handsets would help the users in mobile payments as well as mobile transactions. But till then the company would be focusing on the close range content sharing in the country.
