Namastubhyam to be dedicated to Pandurang Athavale
Founder of the social group, Swadhyay Parivar, Pandurang Athavale, will be given a dance tribute by 83,000 young dancers from around the country. The performance will mark the 90th birth anniversary of Mr. Athavle.
Late Athavale was an Magsaysay award winner of the year 1996. He was popular among the younger generation and was well known as ‘Dadaji’ (grandfather). The dancers will perform in Khargar on Tuesday at an open space of 700 acres at the Central Park.
Performers from different parts of the country will be participating in the 32 minute performance. The event which is titled as ‘Namastubhyam’ will bring together more than 10 lakh followers of Dadaji who was a social reformer as well as a spiritual leader of his time.
Dr Rajesh Parikh, one of the co-ordinators of the event said that, performers aged from 16 to 30 years will be performing. The performance is a 32 minute ‘Yuva Vandana’ which will be an expression of gratitude towards Dadaji.
