Kerala Election Results, 2009, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal

The Kerala by Election Results counting is today, reportedly the Indian National congress party candidates are leading in all the 3 Constituencies where the elections were held.

The 3 candidates of the United Democratic Front led by the congress are poised for victory in Kannur, Ernakulam and Alappuzha Assembly constituencies.

The results will be announced anytime now. A.P. Abdullakutty of the Congress has lead 12,000 + votes over M.V. Jayarajan (CPI(M)) in Kannur constituency while Dominic Presentation (Congress) is 8,600 votes ahead of  P.N. Seenulal (CPI(M)) in Ernakulam.

A.A. Shukoor (Congress) won a lead of more than 4,700 votes over G. Krishanaprasad (CPI) when counting came to a close in Alappuzha constituency.

“The mood is the same as was seen in May 2009 Lok Sabha elections. We are sure that all our three candidates will win without any problems,” said Congress leader and union Defence Minister A.K. Antony.

“This time we will rewrite the record books and victory is a certainty,” said CPI-M’s M.V. Jayarajan, a two-time legislator, who is contesting from Kannur. His comrades recall the LDF’s record of never having lost a by-election while in power.
