Though India Against Corruption activist Anna Hazare is supported by the Bhartiya Janata Party in terms of peaceful protests, the party has rejected the demand to present the Jan Lokpal Bill in the Parliament. In a parallel protest, the BJP too has launched a protest against the Hazare team in the country.

Mr. Jaitley, from the BJP party, has opined that dissent is the essence of democracy and the party has supported Hazare up to a limited point. He added that the last word should always be of the Parliament and not the civil society.

Jaitley also said that the citizens have all the right to protest and express their views. Similarly, BJP president Nitin Gadkari too had expressed a similar view on Anna Hazare saying that he did not agree on the demand by Hazare’s team.

Gadkari had said that he does not agree of the presentation of the Jan Lokpal Bill in the Parliament instead of the bill that has been approved by the Cabinet.
