The incident was little old and took place on 4th December. This was happened while Meera Shankar was about to board a flight to Baltimore after the Mississippi State University program.

Meera Shankar pulled out of the security line and strictly patted down by female security personnel. Meera Shankar was exposed to sever security check-up by the security team despite being told she was an Ambassador.

In a clarification, a Transportation Security Administration spokesman said diplomats are not exempt from the searches and said that “Shankar was screened accordance with TSA’s security policies and procedures.

Indian Embassy officials in Washington are reluctant to comment or discuss on the matter.
