As the Independence Day arrives every citizen tends to develop the patriotic feeling. It is not that the people do not care or love their country otherwise, but the feeling is most visible around the day of the Independence.

India is going to celebrate its 63rd Independence Day on August 15, 2010. India freed itself from the British rule in the year 1947. The very first Prime Minister of free India wrote in his diary:

“At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom. A moment comes, which comes but rarely in history, when we step out from the old to the new, when an age ends, and when the soul of a nation, long suppressed, finds utterance….. We end today a period of ill fortune, and India discovers herself again.”

Shahid Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Mahatma Gandhi are some of the very few but very powerful personalities who played very important role in the struggle for the Indian Independence, without their efforts the scenario would have been altogether different, today.
