IMEI Number, Imei Check, Press *#06# for tracking, International Mobile Equipment Identity
The calls to mobile devices without IMEI numbers will be blocked from tomorow.
The mobile service provider companies will be stopping calls to the mobiles sets sans IMEI numbers as the Union Government’s deadline for barring calls to such devices is ending today.
The decision in this regard was taken by the Government for security reasons.
Type *#06# and press OK, IMEI number will appear on your screen.Mobile users who do not have a this unique identification number , their phones will stop ringing from tomorrow as the government has directed the mobile operators to stop process calls from such phones.
The 15-digit International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number is a unique number, which is alloted to every mobile phone for identification.
To check the IMEI number thru SMSSend an SMS with the text IMEI to either 57886 or 53232 and you will find out about the validity of your IMEI number.

well a great initiative. The importance of imei number has been highlighted by this initiative. The imei number will help both the security as well as dealing with mobile misplacement and theft.

From today midnight the mobile phones without a valid IMEI No. will be blocked.. The only way to get a new one is to visit a Genuine IMEI no. store and ask them to put new one in u’r phone..
