Fire in Bangalore Carlton Towers, 9 dead 60 injured, TV9 Kannada Live, video
Nine people have died and more than 60 injured in a major fire that broke out on the 7th floor of Carlton Towers in Bangalore.
Some apparently died when they jumped out of the building in panic, an eyewitnesses said.
TV clips showed a lady wearing a blue salwar kameez standing jumping from the 6th floor and then falling to the ground.

The multi-storey building situated on the Old Airport Road in Domlur area was evacuated and the fire was under control after 2 hours it broke out, officials said.
Many people reportedly fainted after inhaling the smoke and were rushed to near by hospital a fire official said.
Around 15 fire tenders with two rescue vehicles were used in the operation.
The blaze which is believed to be triggered by a short circuit, created panic.
Many passers also helped to get the trapped outside. The fire that broke near the peak hour caused a huge traffic jam on a 2 kms stretch.
Police said a many of them jumped out of the building and suffered injuries.
Huge number of people were stuck inside. A Twitter user trapped inside the building tweeted (username: Kiran Jonnalagadda):
“Carlton Towers is burning and six of us are trapped inside. The fire’s above but there’s smoke everywhere. Saw people jump to their death.”

Please find the photos what my took yesterday at Carlton Towers when it caught Fire. Heard that who ever jumped got serious injuries. Please include them in your prayers…

Guys , please stop broadcasting the video of people jumping out of the windows. It is extermely distrubing… and request you to behave humanly with such incidents. No sensational jornulism …
