DMRC – Delhi Metro Rail Corporation To Introduce Additional Trains For Line 3 & Line 4

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is planning to introduce more trains before the start of the Commonwealth Games that are supposedly starting in October. The plans are made to curb the overcrowding as it will the peak season.

The new trains will be introduced for the two routes- Dwarka-Noida, Line 3 and Yamuna Bank- Anand Vihar, Line 4, respectively and will commute every week.

A spokesperson for the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation said, “The commissioning of these new trains will help in reducing the problem of overcrowding on these corridors as the total number of trains available for services will increase to 64. A total of 52 trains are making about 566 trips a day on these lines now. DMRC will be able to increase the number of train trips to 725 everyday with the commissioning of the new trains”.

He also informed that the metro currently carries 6,75,000 passengers on these two routes. The additional trains will help the DMRC to carry as many as 8,70,000 passengers.
