This is above the global average of 15%.

A survey by Hewitt Associates showed that wages in India rose 13.8% in 2006. Middle class parents take home more than $22,000 annually. It seems the middle class parents are taking home a lot of fast food and empty calories as well.

India is becoming too much like the West – fatter and too glued to the television.obese.jpg

WHO is predicting that if trends continue, India could havev around 80 million diabetics by 2030 – more than 20% of the world's figure.
