Australia to skip IPL-3 ?

Australian cricket players are considering skipping the lucrative Indian Premier league edition 3 (IPL-3) which begins March-April this year

The Australian cricketers may not be able to play in the third edition of the Indian Premier League.

This was after the Shiv Sena, a political party in India, said on Thursday that the Australian players will not be allowed to play in India.

The party was reacting to the manner in which the Indian citizens were been beaten in Australia by some groups of locals.

Reacting to this, the Australian Cricketers’ Association did have a talk with the IPL and asked them to share the security plan with them. However, the IPL denied the same because they do not recognise the ACA.

It will be interesting to see whether the Aussies finally do manage to play in the IPL. After the Indian cricketers, it is the Australian cricketers who bring in a lot of sheen to the tournament. Without them, it will be difficult to visualise the tournament going ahead in full swing.

25 Australian cricketers were expected to take part in the 2010 edition of the IPL.
