The activist and his team have been given a spot besides the Firoz Shah Kotla ground in Delhi to hold the protest. Anna on 15th August, at 7 pm, will be appealing the people of the nation to join him in the hunger strike and turn off the lights between 8 pm and 9 pm.

The announcement of the new campaign was made by Arvind Kejriwal of India Against Corruption on Thursday. Kejriwal had added that instead of the lights the people should light an earthen lamp which would signify a ray of hope to remove illiteracy, corruption and hunger from the country.

Further appeal was also made not to indulge in any violence during the hunger strike. Kekriwal had also said that they had come to know that some of the mischief mongers have the intention to enter the peaceful protests across the country and try to encourage violence.
