Grant Thornton – Asian Business Survey
According to a Grant Thorton survey in Hong Kong, two Asian countries rank in the top five most optimistic countries for the future of their country’s economy in the next 12 months.
It is no surprise that they are India and China. But just how optimistic are they?
93% of business owners in India say things are going to be good. (India was number one in optimism)
79% of mainland China business owners said things are going to be good. China was fourth behind Ireland and South Africa.
Mid-size businesses in China also predict good times ahead with 49% expecting to increase their workforce.
So, with all that growth in China what is there to worry about?
1. Shortage of working capital.
2. Shortage of long term financing.
3. RED TAPE
4. Availability of skilled workforce
Even though the Chinese expect growth, the business owners still are not without anxiety.
But, with 900 million people to draw from, continued growth does seem plausible.
