Shanghai Jiaotong School of Management – Buddha Studies Business
It happens in the US. It happens in Japan. Why shouldn’t it happen in China, too?
When business is good, so is giving.
In fact, business, I mean giving is so good in China, that money coming in has translated into the need for more financial expertise among the temple monks.
The Jade Buddha Temple in Shanhai is one such example. It is run by a master abbot who has found it necessary to send his monks to school to study temple management – including the study of accounting, corporate strategy, religious-product marketing and so on.
What school offers such courses? How about the school of management at Shanghai Jiatong?
It seems the temple now has a web site (I couldn’t find it) and its operations have been computerized.
I wonder how the giving is India these days?
Does anybody know?

But when the income for that temple becomes too big, the temple priests will need to know what to do and how to manage it, no?

I think teaching the student to become management of their temple is good in one way but i see it as a waist of time because anybody can take care of a building and do any task that need to be done.
