China’s Most Beautiful Girls – # 5 – Zhang Ziyi
I found a list that purports to know who the 10 most beautiful girls in China are.
What this means to me is that these are the girls we are likely to see next on the big screen in the magazines and such here in the US as America tries to capitalize on everything Chinese AND get the average Chinese to look/read/watch.
Is that what I am doing here? Hmmm….
Here is number 5.
No one will be surprised to know that Zhang Ziyi made the list. What I am surprised by is that she is number 5 and not higher.
I reckon she figures people in English speaking countries can say her name (she’s wrong) because she hasn’t adopted an English name yet. Does anybody have any suggestions.
She is a young 26 years old and comes from Beijing.

I am surprised that she made the list at all. Seriously, she is just another plain looking woman from China. The only thing is that she is famous, but she is far from beautiful. She is known by her attitude.

She has definitely made inroads into the US…but I don’t think it is because of her ‘beauty’. She is more cute than beautiful…IMHO

i can not deny that she is beatiful and make more people know more about china. we don’t think she can present china. actually in home not so many people like her.

Chinese often adopt English names.
My wife is Xiangtao Hu. It is not hard to say but when westerners see it before hearing it they have no idea what to do.

I don’t think she should have to change her name. If people can learn how to say Swarzenegger then they can put some effort into getting Zang Ziyi’s name right. A few years ago a chinese director won an oscar and when he was doing his long thank you speech in chinese (for some odd reason) the crowd was giggling. What was so funny? It was disrespectful of them.

I am surprised that she did not rank higher also. She is very beautiful and very talented. As for her American name… I think it should be “Iyam A. Hottie”.
