6000 Year Old House Dug Up in Shaanxi, China

Everything is older, been there longer, first done, discovered or invented in China. Now China can lay claim to having found the oldest houses – 6,000 year old, 200 square meter above-ground houses were discovered in the northwest China’s Shaanxi Province.

However, upon close reading of the article here only a small portion of the houses were unearthed – two 8-10cm-thick layers of hard earth with the remains of a wall about 15 meters long and 40-50cm wide and 103 cm tall.

And they conjectured a house out of that. It causes me to think of archeaologists who discover a bone here and a bone way over there and conclude they must be connected.

Archeaology is certainly an indefinite science.

So, suppose this 3 foot by 50 foot wall did belong to a house. Then what?

What do you think?
