Pakistani speedster Shoaib Akhtar  has decided to go to court to fight the penalty that was levied on him by the Pakistan Cricket Board.

He said to the media on Friday that he was wronged in being fined Rs 7 million (around $80,000) and that he will contest the same.

Akhtar was also banned by the previous PCB chief, Nasim Ashraf for a period of five years and Akhtar had gone to court. The High Court had ruled against the ban but had not delivered a verdict about the fine.

Akhtar went on to add that he had done nothing wrong and had not criticised the PCB. Unfortunately, that is exactly what he had done, as he had actually criticised the administration for demoting him in the central contracts category.

Akhtar has said that he will not retire from any format of the game.
