Vijay Mallya step daughter Laila Mahmood questioned by IT dept

Laila Mahmood who works for IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi allegedly removed some confidential documents from his office, minutes before the IT sleuths raided the office. She is being questioned for her involvement in this matter.

Laila Mahmood is suddenly in the news today related to certain IT related investigations pertaining to the Indian Premiere League.

So who is Laila Mahmood and why is she in the news? Laila Mahmood happens to be the step daughter of Royal Challengers Bangalore team owner Vijay Mallya and reports say that she was identified as the woman who left IPL Chairman Lalit Modi’s office – barely a few minutes before Income Tax officials visited it for an investigation on Thursday.

According to a report by the Hindustan Times: “Laila Mahmood was seen in the CCTV footage from the Lalit Modi’s office and later some documents related to Modi were found on her laptop. All this episode has raised suspicion and Income Tax Department is after her.”
