Fake Shaolin Monks take out Five Policemen, 2 Militia members, 2 patrol cars….and more.

The 1,500 year old Shaolin Temple in Dengfeng City is the birthplace of Chinese Kung fu. The temple also made $12.9 million in ticket revenue last year for its promotional activities.

Add to the list…fake monks. (It seems the Chinese can steal from themselves also.)

11 men pretended to be Shaolin monks. However, when they were found out by reporters they beat up on the reporters, four of them. The fake monks also got the best of five police officers, two militia members and several local residents.shaolin.monk.jpg

The monkeys, er monks also damaged two patrol cars and the reporters' camera equipment.

What's really cool, however, is that the police finally got the dudes….who are now in jail….for the next 11 months to two years.

Nope, I don't want to mess with Shaolin monks. But, I don't want to mess with the Chinese police either.

The monks formed a gang to tap into that $12.9 revenue until the police were tipped off by viewers who are now deep deep in hiding.

Is there anything that some Chinese won't try to fake?
