They drink an average of 250 cups per person per year. STARBUCKS , are you reading?
The Swiss food giant NESTLE’S has poured more than $500 million into Russian coffee cups up until now.
According to some, multinational food and drinks companies are the biggest investors in Russia. Think COCA-COLA.
Beer consumption has risen from around 4 gallons a head in 1995 to nearly 16 gallons a head 10 years later. The Europeans are just ahead of that in consumption and the Americans have volunteered to be designated drivers.
Denmarks’ CARLSBERG now holds 50% of Russia’s leading brewer BALTIC BEVERAGES HOLDINGS. Can anybody get me a BUD? Don’t bother. I don’t drink.
But the Russians do.
Did you know that when a Russian drink is too hot, they will pour it into their saucer and then drink it from the saucer? Yep, been there. Done that.
